I recently finished reading Allegra Goodman’s Cookbook Collector. My aunt bought it for me because the author was touted as the next Jane Austen. That is a very high bar for any author to reach, especially by my standards. Austen has been my favorite author since I read Pride and Prejudice (the first of many times). I firmly believe she will remain my favorite author. However, Goodman is certainly talented. I thoroughly enjoyed her story and clearly saw how the story’s 2 main characters, Jess and Emily, echoed Elinor and Marianne. It was not an Austen tale, but it was a great read.

Yeah, A relative (second cousin or something?) wrote a whole book on the history of the Brodies - It was pretty full of some scary people. I promise I’m not as bad as my family tree would lead you to believe. Plus the book included the first picture of the “Brodie Castle” I had ever seen. I would love to travel to Scotland one day and tour the property.

My Panthers have a lot of work to do over the off-season. I was so concerned they would use the number one draft pick to sign Cam Newton. That would be an unfortunate choice, since I would be unable to cheer for a cheater. Then they hire a talented Defensive Coordinator to be the new Head Coach. I can certainly support Ron Rivera. Now, however this could indicate Nick Un-Fairley will be playing in the Bank of America Stadium. Can I support such a dirty player? How bad do I want to pull for a winning team or rather how bad do I want my team to win? I will certainly be glued to the NFL Draft this year.
